Experience a safari at Yala National Park, which ranks as one of the most popular and the second largest national park in Sri Lanka. This park is located in the southeastern part of the country, spanning across the Southern Province and Uva Province. The park features various ecosystems, including moist monsoon, dry monsoon, semi-deciduous forests, thorny bushes, grasslands, as well as freshwater and marine wetlands, along with sandy beaches. Yala National Park is found in a dry semi-arid climate. Within its borders, you can discover 215 bird species, six of which are exclusive to Sri Lanka. There are 44 species of mammals living in Yala National Park, which is known for having one of the highest populations of leopards worldwide. Additionally, the park is home to endangered species like the Sloth Bear, Leopard, Elephant, and Wild Water Buffalo. Other mammals you may encounter include the Toque Macaque, Golden Palm Civet, Red Slender Loris, and Fishing Cat.
